SIPQOS Launches Beta – Remote SIP / VoIP Network Monitoring

VoIP networks are growing at a rapid rate, network administrators did not have the tool chest required to effectively manage their VoIP networks, until now.

VANCOUVER, February. 10SIPQOS (pronounced SIP-KWOSS), a new entrant in the VoIP network monitoring market has launched a beta of its remote VoIP network monitoring service today. SIPQOS released the first product to bring the power of remote VoIP network monitoring by combining embedded SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) User Agents, web services and some secret sauce. SIPQOS monitors VoIP networks remotely and alerts network administrators when a problem has been detected.

The service also allows administrators to create their own VoIP test profiles for maximum flexibility and integration with their own networks. The product was released today in beta with initial support for most of the SIP Phone Systems, SIP Proxies & Servers and SIP soft-switches and automatically alerts users via SMS and email according to their own rules.

“Nearly every network administrator shudders when they hear the word VoIP.” says company founder – Erik Lagerway. “We got tired of installing appliances, mirroring ports on switches and installing expensive software to perform basic VoIP network monitoring tasks, so we built SIPQOS. It’s the first in a product line dedicated to making VoIP network monitoring and QOS (Quality of Service) simpler, more flexible and more dynamic.”

The SIPQOS beta is available as a subscription service for remote VoIP network monitoring of all SIP-capable phone systems, servers, & ITSP (Internet Telephony Service Provider) networks. Over time, the company plans to expand their offerings and provide specific features for larger PBX vendors, VoIP service providers and SIP endpoints.

“VoIP was designed 25 years ago to and became a popular method to bypass toll on the telephone networks of old. Today, SIP has become the de facto signaling protocol used to direct billions of voice minutes per month around the world.” says Erik. “SIPQOS is about bringing the tools of SIP / VoIP network monitoring to the admins that are not SIP engineers, which is most of them.”
